The Princess Sheila NaGeira Theatre is an air conditioned, accessible facility, with 379 seats, in the Town of Carbonear. Since opening in 1998, the theatre has become the principal centre for the performing arts in Carbonear and many of the surrounding towns. The well designed and attractive theatre is a source of pride for the Town of Carbonear and the entire Baccalieu Trail region. The theatre has approximately 25,000 patrons annually attending various local, national and international performances.
The theatre is operated by the Princess Sheila NaGeira Theatre Board. The Princess Sheila NaGeira Theatre Board is seeking an Assistant Theatre Manager who is enthusiastic, professional and has a passion for the theatre. The individual would have excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills. The Assistant Theatre Manager will report to the Theatre Manager and will assist in the smooth operation of the theatre; ensuring it functions effectively and within budget.
Qualifications/Duties
The ability to communicate with the public in a clear, polite, and informative manner in person and on the telephone
Computer skills: Familiarity with email, word processing (Word, Google Docs), spreadsheets (Excel), graphic design software (Canva), and website maintenance (Wix)
Social media: Be able to create, schedule, and post content (written posts, images, graphics, and video)
Physical ability to assist in event set up, including moving tables, chairs, and props with attention to detail
Experience with POS (point of sale) equipment would be an asset
An interest and appreciation of the arts
