Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Technician to join our Histology team located in Sherbrooke, Qc

The following are responsibilities related to the Assistant Technician position:

  • Perform some technical tasks (cover slipping of slides, embedding, cutting, processing, trimming, ect)
  • Maintain laboratory supplies (solutions and materials)
  • Prepare studies according to the information received from the team leader / Technical specialists.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
  • File specimens
  • Perform tasks in compliance with the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the Health and safety rules.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
The following are minimum qualifications related to the Assistant Technician position:
  • High school degree.
  • Relevant experience is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.
