DUTIES

The Department of Communication and Visual Arts in the Faculty of Arts at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a 1-year Limited Term Contract in Communication, with a focus on applied Public Relations (PR). The successful candidate must have the versatility to teach across the applied contexts of the Communication program. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise or experience in content production and storytelling through the digital environment, including Social Media, Digital Strategy/Content production, and campaign development.

The successful candidate will be a committed and passionate teacher and have evidence of effective teaching or evidence of potential to be an outstanding teacher committed to scholarly teaching. We offer a Bachelor\'s degree in Communication and Digital Journalism, and this position fosters teaching and practice within the synergies of these fields. This position offers a wide range of opportunities to engage in scholarly teaching and mentorship activities outside of the classroom. The LTC position teaches eight undergraduate courses during the academic year. The successful candidate will engage in active service work to support and sustain our rich programming, and to contribute to the collegiality of the department, division, and institution. Candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with faculty to design and deliver programming.
