Job Description

Seeking an RECE with the knowledge of Montessori program who is able to manage and lead up to 4 classrooms.

Hours: 9am to 4pm.

Responsibilities

Manages and ensures that standards of practice are met and exceeded according to the Ministry of Education, Licensing and Compliance, within governance through the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) Plan and implement a consistent child-centered Montessori program Substitute in a classroom when staff is absent and ratio permits Manages the marketing, advertising, and public relation components of the Centre's programs to promote enrollment, Centre's profile, public awareness of critical issues for childcare, families, community, etc. Works with external agencies, services and resources including local community agencies within the child and family sector to provide integrated seamless programs Ensures that the Centre is compliant with all legislation, policies and procedures Performs workforce planning function and candidate interviews to ensure sufficient staffing to meet child/adult ratios Supervises the day-to-day implementation of all programs Supervises, motivates and trains staff. Promotes effective teamwork and ensures staff are engaged in continuous professional learning opportunities Monitors and evaluates staff performance, oversees attendance management, authorizes and coordinates vacation requests and recommends disciplinary action when necessary Plans and implements parent/family involvement
Qualifications

Must provide at least two (2) employment-related references Must be a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators Has at least 1 year of experience working in a licensed child care centre as a supervisor Montessori Early Education Diploma (MACTE or equivalent) with at least 3 years experience in a Montessori environment preferred Knowledge of the ELECT Document, How Does Learning Happen? Think, Feel, Act and the CCEYA Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize different competing requirements simultaneously Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel. Intermediate knowledge of technology tools and website related programs Able to obtain a clear Police Vulnerable Sector Screening, First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate - Level C, and meet health requirements and Current Food Handlers certificate

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
