Graywood self-performs the construction of multi-unit residential projects within the GTA. This role will be the primary assistant to our Site Superintendent with a scope of work being structure, enclosure, garage and base building systems.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Order concrete and reinforcing steel.
  • Coordinate trade contractors involved in structure, enclosure, garage and base building systems.
  • Assist the Site Superintendent in executing the work on schedule.
  • Review and co-ordinate all temporary works.
  • Assist the Site Superintendent in maintaining tight control of Division 1 costs.
  • Maintain an orderly site office.
  • Review the site with the consultants and correct deficiencies noted on their inspection reports.
  • Assist the Site Superintendent and safety consultant with the implementation of the project safety manual.
  • Enforce the policies of the safety manual on the trade contractors.
  • Review the site with the safety consultant and correct deficiencies noted in their reports.
  • Assist the Site Superintendent with the implementation of a quality control program.
  • Review and inspect the work of the trade contractors and reject defective work.
  • Participate in bi-weekly trade co-ordination meetings.
  • Assist the Site Superintendent in the obtaining of occupancy permits.
  • May also be required to supervise the correction of deficiencies noted on our pre-Performance Audit inspection of the Common Elements.
  • May also be required to supervise the resolution of deficiencies noted on the Tarion Performance Audits for Common Elements.
General
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety, quality and environment legislation and standards.
  • Carry out additional ad hoc duties as required
Requirements

Knowledge& Experience
  • 5-10 years of site supervision experience in multi-unit residential construction.
  • Must have completed at least 2 buildings from start to finish.
Skills
  • A planner, problem preventer and problem solver.
  • An attention to detail in the office and on site.
  • Confidence and maturity to work with minimum guidance and make sound decisions.
  • A good communicator and consensus builder.
  • Thrives working in a \xe2\x80\x9csmall company\xe2\x80\x9d atmosphere where job boundaries are blurred.
  • Proficient user of Excel, Word and project scheduling software.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary qualification and professional designation in a related field desirable
