Job Description

Position Summary
The Assistant Finishing Superintendent is responsible to provide field support services for the Low-Rise Construction Division. The ideal candidate must be well organized, proactive, hard-working and should be able to multi-task in fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for managing and overall execution of unit build out including but not limited to all finishing details, deficiency correction and handover to Customer Care.
  • Ensures project materials are supplied and work is completed in compliance with the Project Quality Program.
  • Ensures Unit construction inspection and deficiency rectification program is implemented and completed prior to PDI.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety Manual and the Site-Specific Health and Safety Manuals.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Occupation Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations and industry standards as well as the Ministry of Labor and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board reporting requirements.
  • Manage and maintain deficiency tracking and completion program. Ensure all unit deficiencies are rectified one week after reported. Maintain an average PDI per unit deficiency count of 10 or less.
  • Produce detailed and accurate 3 week look ahead schedules for finishing trades
  • Complete daily logs and photos.
  • As a member of the Project Site Team, your duties include assisting the Site Finishing Superintendent on-site construction activities daily.
  • Take the lead on productivity issues and monitor work performance and efficiency of employees and subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedule are followed and project is executed effectively and with budget.
  • Strategically plan and implement manpower levels and material quantities; ensure proper equipment and trades are available as required.
  • Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, purchaser selections, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that quality standards are maintained.
  • Post-secondary education (College or University) with a specialty in Construction, Engineering or Architecture.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with prioritizing and multi-tasking abilities to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to finishing detail.
  • Enjoys a fast-paced environment and is highly professional.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • 4+ years of previous low rise construction experience required.
Compensation Package
$60,000-$80,000 plus Package & Benefits
