We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Site Superintendent / Foreman with a strong work ethic, the desire to be part of a team, and the skills to advance some of the most exciting Residential and Commercial projects in the Saskatoon region.
Anticipated start date is April 3, 2023.
As a member of our team, you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of our commercial and multi-family projects.
Summary
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Assistant Site Superintendent / Foreman is accountable for managing crews for field operations from initial project planning to completion for high density 6 story wood frame rental buildings. This person is responsible for assisting with site management of the project and all project activities, including the supervision of self-performed and subcontracted construction work, and focuses on managing the execution of the work by utilizing and leveraging the team\xe2\x80\x99s experience. This includes ensuring that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures. The Assistant Site Superintendent / Foreman assists the Superintendent in managing, directing, and mentoring all direct reports and field personnel, and possesses comprehensive knowledge of the project management lifecycle. The Foreman plays a strategic role in the constructability of the project through their continuous and active review of all project documentation, activities, progress, etc.; seeking out potential for risk and opportunity and implementing the required measures to correctly address and resolve issues.
Responsibilities

  • Work with the Site Superintendent and Senior Project Manager, to implement Arbutus\xe2\x80\x99 safety program and maintains safety and record-keeping requirements.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor crew personnel, including direct and indirect reports.
  • Effectively communicate with own forces and trades and ensure that performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met.
  • Advise Site Superintendent or Senior Project Manager of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of resource allocation and planning and assist with three-week lookahead schedules.
  • Monitor and executes the project construction plan and schedule.
  • Complete and maintain documentation requirements and ensures the same of subtrades.

Requirements
  • Journeyman Trade Certification is preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive field supervisor experience required. Depending upon the project size, scope, and complexity the years of experience may vary.
  • Zoom boom and/or skid steer ticket / experience for material handling and deliveries.
  • Knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, and methods and procedures.
  • Understanding of project scope and ability to apply basic engineering principles to resolve constructability challenges.
  • Understanding of project schedules and ability to identify the critical path.
  • Knowledge and understanding of scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental principles/procedures/legislation.
  • Ability to lead and run effective site meetings with client, consultants, trades, own forces work, and internal employees.
  • Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, scheduling platforms and CAD software.
