Job Description

As Assistant Program Manager, you will report directly to the Program Manager and support the day-to-day operations and administration of two residential care programs in Inuvik, NWT. Responsibilities: While not a comprehensive list, primary responsibilities will include: \xc2\xb7 Act as a role model amongst the team \xc2\xb7 Support the recruitment and selection process for staff positions \xc2\xb7 Assist in preparing staff schedules and reviewing payroll \xc2\xb7 Be involved in the lives of the clients as an active participant, role model and advocate \xc2\xb7 Ensure protocols are being followed by the team \xc2\xb7 Perform and monitor daily reporting \xc2\xb7 Ensure regular implementation of structured recreational and leisure time activities \xc2\xb7 Create and maintain community and cultural connections \xc2\xb7 Communicate regularly with the head office to discuss status of clients and program \xc2\xb7 Provide an overview of the program to new clients and their families \xc2\xb7 Assist in the facilitation of training and professional development opportunities to enhance staff\xe2\x80\x99s professional capacity \xc2\xb7 Participate in rotating on-call support schedule \xc2\xb7 Take on Acting Program Manager duties when PM is away from program or on vacation Skills & Abilities: Your current/former colleagues would describe you as having the following skills and abilities: \xc2\xb7 Strong people management and supervision skills \xc2\xb7 Resilient and independent with a good-natured approach to life \xc2\xb7 Strong organizational and administrative skills \xc2\xb7 Strong time management skills and strategic thinking ability \xc2\xb7 Effective and supportive communication skills \xc2\xb7 Experienced in case management and crisis de-escalation \xc2\xb7 Creative and great problem-solver \xc2\xb7 Experienced in human services documentation and reporting standards \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to create and facilitate activities and programming \xc2\xb7 Able to use technology in support of learning and delivery of program services \xc2\xb7 The ability to ensure client confidentiality and maintain a non-judgmental approach \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Inuvailuit and Gwich\xe2\x80\x99in culture is an asset \xc2\xb7 An understanding of the intergenerational and gendered impacts of residential schooling \xc2\xb7 Ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary, integrated team environment \xc2\xb7 Ability to function effectively and maintain clear boundaries in a residential treatment environment serving clients with complex needs Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a supervisory capacity in a complex care or human services environment \xc2\xb7 Completion of a degree or diploma in a health care or human services or related discipline \xc2\xb7 Valid NVCI, CPR, First Aid, ASIST, WHMIS, Food Handler\xe2\x80\x99s certification, and restriction-free Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license \xc2\xb7 Successful candidates are responsible for providing a clear criminal record check, vulnerable sector screening, up to date immunization record including proof of full Covid-19 vaccination, as well as clear tuberculosis skin test.
