Over 38 years later, Mastermind Toys is the nation's largest specialty toy and children's bookstore, and we deeply believe that "Play is Kids' Work".We are currently seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our Richmond Hill (ON) location.This individual will support the Store Manager through all aspects of the store operations to bring fun, learning and confidence to parents & children by providing an exceptional customer experience; sound management of staff and store operations and has accountability to contribute to the achievement of profitability, success and store growth.Job ResponsibilitiesSales and Leadership Maximize the sales opportunities in the store Create an exceptional customer service experience Motivate and coach employees to meet their potential and our customer's needs Participate in the creation and maintenance of an enticing shopping environmentStore Operations Participate in the creation of employee schedules and shift zone coverage. Monitor floor coverage throughout the shift Participate in the training and supervision of staff on relevant store operations including POS procedures, merchandising, inventory handling, loss prevention and safe work practices In conjunction with Play HQ, arrange for repairs and maintenance to keep the premises in top quality conditionQualifications One-year previous retail or related supervisor level experience required A dedicated team player who can think on their feet, problem solve and diplomatically address concerns of customers Excellent oral and written communication skills Organized, energetic and able to adapt quickly to a fun-filled, fluid environment Possess good time management skills, able to multi-task and align priorities with company values Computer literate using MS Office productsMastermind Toys is committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment and selection process.
