Acknowledging that UPEI is located on the unceded land of the Mi'kmaq Nation, of the Wabanaki Confederacy, in the traditional district of Epekwitk, the Faculty of Arts (Master of Arts in Island Studies program; MAIS) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) welcomes applications from exceptional candidates for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level to teach graduate-level courses in the MAIS program and in the soon-to-be-launched Master of Cleantech Leadership and Transformation (MCLT) program.The Island Studies program at the University of Prince Edward Island is home to the MAIS program, the Institute of Island Studies (IIS), the UNESCO Chair in Island Studies and Sustainability, and Island Studies Press, creating a synergy that lives up to the IIS's vision: To be the leading centre of excellence on issues related to island studies scholarship, public policy and engagement. Housed in the Faculty of Arts, the MAIS program has been a global leader in Island Studies graduate education for over two decades. Both the MAIS program and the IIS play a pivotal role in Prince Edward Island public policy formation, bridging the University and the community. They also serve as a hub for a network of island studies scholars and teachers throughout the world.Housed in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the MCLT is an innovative transdisciplinary graduate program that aims to educate and cultivate transformative leaders who bridge traditional and emerging knowledge systems and drive cleantech innovation for a sustainable future. The MCLT's first cohort is expected to begin in Fall 2025.The anticipated start date of this appointment is July 1, 2025.
