Tenure Track Position in Clinical Exercise Physiology
The Department of Kinesiology & Physical Education (KPE) invites applications for a tenure track position in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the Assistant Professor level beginning July 1st, 2024, subject to budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will have earned a PhD in clinical exercise physiology or related field, and certification as a Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) Clinical Exercise Physiologist\xe2\x84\xa2 (CEP), is preferred. Applicants should have evidence of commitment to and superior ability in teaching, an active program of research with strong potential for external funding, and undergraduate/graduate student mentorship. Ideally, the successful candidate\'s research program will focus on metabolic aspects of exercise (or physical activity) related to cardiometabolic health and be able to collaborate within the Department. The candidate is expected to be actively involved with the , building research capacity as well as hands-on, experiential learning opportunities for students.
The successful candidate will support our undergraduate program and teach courses in human physiology, exercise physiology, clinical exercise physiology, and/or exercise prescription. The candidate will also contribute to students\' ability to obtain core competencies and practical experience in exercise physiology required for accreditation by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) as Certified Personal Trainer\xc2\xae (CPT) or Clinical Exercise Physiologist\xe2\x84\xa2 (CEP). The ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition and research methods would be considered an asset. Teaching responsibilities may be multicampus with course delivery at Waterloo, Brantford, and Milton campuses.
We are seeking a candidate with the capability to engage and inspire students in their academic work and who will show initiative in contributing to the department\'s programs and curriculum development. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active program of scholarship/research, contribute to the mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in service within the department, faculty, and university.
