Job Overview

Reporting to the Operations Manager, as the

Assistant

Production Manager

you areresponsible for supporting the Production Manager to organize, oversee and direct the manufacturing process for roof and floor trusses. You also set production priorities through the batching of orders to ensure achievement of optimum production level for the business unit.


Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Directing, developing, and providing guidance to the Production team to ensure alignment with internal standards, production objectives and customer expectations. Monitoring production progress and inspecting work quality, ensuring compliance with established practices and quality standards. Assisting in coordinating production and resolving manufacturing issues with other departments. Retrieving customer orders and allocating work accordingly. Completing pre-shift equipment inspection, fabricating and assembling wood roof trusses according to designer specifications. Operating diesel or propane powered forklifts to safely move goods. Assisting in maintaining inventory accuracy and efficient use of feedstock products.

Essential Requirements

High School Diploma, or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of production management experience. Satisfactory verification of criminal record check. Comfortable using office equipment, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams) and design software (CAD, Mitek or similar).

Preferred Requirements

Forklift certification is preferred.

Working Conditions

You primarily work on site from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required.
