The Role: Assistant Principal
The Assistant Principal will serve as a vital member of the school's leadership team, integrating administrative responsibilities with direct classroom engagement. This role requires a dedicated educational leader who can effectively balance instructional responsibilities with key leadership duties to enrich the learning experience for all. A strong commitment to our Catholic faith, academic excellence, and student well-being is essential. Approximately half of the assignment will involve teaching with the specific details to be determined in consultation with the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Academic & Instructional Leadership:
Collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement innovative educational programs that promote student engagement and academic excellence.
Work closely with teachers to review and refine curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
Facilitate professional learning opportunities for staff to enhance teaching methodologies and classroom management.
Catholic Identity & Spiritual Nurturing:
Actively uphold and promote the Catholic faith and values within the entire school community.
Foster a culture of compassion, respect, service, and spiritual growth among students and staff.
School Operations & Student Well-being:
Assist in the management of day-to-day school operations, including scheduling, student discipline, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Ensure a safe, orderly, and conducive learning environment for all students.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
Foster positive and collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents/guardians, and the broader community.
Qualified Candidates Will Possess
A Master's Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or demonstrated progress towards its completion.
A Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate is required.
Working towards or holding the Leadership Qualifications Certificate (LQC) is highly desired.
A minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience, with demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
A deep and strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Living Waters Catholic School Division.
