The City of Yellowknife is currently seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and motivated individual to assume the position of Assistant Pool Supervisor with the Community Services Department. Under the direction of the Pool Supervisor, the incumbent is a working supervisor who is responsible for assisting with program planning and supervision of programs and staff. This includes supervising building maintenance as well as scheduling, promoting, evaluating, and quality control of all aquatic recreational activities and programs. The work includes instructing programs, guarding, employee training, and providing direction to on-duty staff. There is a requirement for the incumbent to be on-call at designated times and to respond to emergencies after hours. This position also requires shift work, evenings and weekends are required as the facility operates seven days a week from 6 am to 11 pm approximately.
QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires that the individual have a Grade 12 diploma and a minimum of two years of supervisory experience. The incumbent must possess the ability to work independently and have strong interpersonal skills.
