ASSISTANT MANAGER, PAYROLL

Victoria

As a key member of a results-driven, high performance team, you provide oversight for payroll operations and services for BC Ferries employees. Your responsibilities include progressive leadership, supervision and engagement of the payroll staff; participating in planning and the development of policies and objectives; developing and implementing projects and programs; and providing support to the Payroll Manager.

Your enthusiasm for your team’s success is apparent in your ability to lead, coach and motivate. You are a strong communicator and an analytical thinker who ensures accuracy in the details. You are well organized, and caan effectively prioritize tasks, while meeting strict, often conflicting deadlines. You

You are a designated Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) under the National Payroll Institute and are enrolled in or have completed the Certified Payroll Management (CPM) program. You have a minimum of 5 years’ payroll experience in a complex computerized payroll environment, extensive knowledge of payroll practices, as well as a minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment.
