The Applebee's Assistant Manager must be able to maintain positive and respectful communications with front-of-house associates, other restaurant staff and Senior Management.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the restaurant environment and supporting the Applebee's General Manager. This includes supervising, training, and coaching front-of-house associates. The Assistant Manager will assist the General Manager with overseeing of labour cost, payroll, and productivity reports; daily safety, cleanliness inspectionsSpecific Functions and Duties:

  • Ensures prompt, friendly service according to company guidelines.
  • Directs overall activities and performance of front-of-house associates.
  • Ensures guest contact as a priority with self, utilizing a target goal of 100% table visitation.
  • Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff.
  • Maintains adequate departmental inventory levels.
  • Effectively schedules associates to meet operational demands.
  • Maintains effective safety and security according to company policy and government standards. Corrects unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Promotes and manages restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Performs routine maintenance and immediately informs Maintenance and General Manager of needed repairs.
  • Monitors acceptable associate day-to-day performance and documents situations that require or could lead to disciplinary or corrective action. Monitors progressive discipline when appropriate.
  • Assists with orientation, coaching and on-going training of associates.
  • Assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.
Experience, Skills and Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years previous front-of-house experience
  • Smart Serve certification
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance, fast-paced environment
  • Superb communication skills
  • Ability to stand, continuously and occasional lift up to 30lbs.
  • Is guest obsessed and promotes the team to be.
  • Availability to work flexible hours as including evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to complete a Criminal Background Check to the hotel's satisfaction.
