Job Description


Overview: The Communications Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager in the planning and execution of various communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for creating engaging content. Must be a student, enrolled in at least one course for the duration of the position. Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Assist with the development and implementation of communication plans and strategies \xc2\xb7 Write, edit, and proofread various materials such as press releases, email newsletters, and social media posts \xc2\xb7 Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels \xc2\xb7 Monitor and track media coverage and measure the impact of communication efforts \xc2\xb7 Support the organization\'s social media presence by scheduling and publishing content \xc2\xb7 Conduct research and gather information for various communication projects \xc2\xb7 Develop original communications content such as blogs, press releases, newsletters, and other publications \xc2\xb7 Monitor and assist with media coverage for BIA events, projects, and initiatives \xc2\xb7 Assist and collaborate with team members on content creation and content editing \xc2\xb7 Monitor BIA member businesses\xe2\x80\x99 accounts for things to share on the BIA\xe2\x80\x99s website and blogs \xc2\xb7 Uploading BIA member businesses\xe2\x80\x99 events onto the BIA website \xc2\xb7 Prepare presentations and reports as requested \xc2\xb7 Assist the Marketing Manager with the management of the company\'s external image \xc2\xb7 Attend all BIA events to assist with operations and media coverage Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Mailchimp
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in all social media platforms and scheduling platforms

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-35 per week Salary: From $16.00 per hour Benefits:
