Assistant Manager
who can lead by example, drive results, and keep things running smoothly no matter how busy we get.
Position Summary
The
Assistant Manager
is responsible for supporting daily restaurant operations and ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, team performance, and operational efficiency. Working closely with the General Manager, you will help lead a large front-of-house and back-of-house team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Daily Operations:
Oversee front-of-house and back-of-house operations to ensure consistent execution of Montana's standards in food quality, speed of service, and cleanliness.
Team Leadership:
Train, motivate, and coach team members to deliver excellent service and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
Guest Experience:
Actively engage with guests, resolve concerns promptly, and ensure every guest leaves happy.
Operational Excellence:
Support inventory management, scheduling, and cost control to achieve restaurant targets.
Health & Safety:
Maintain compliance with all food safety, health, and workplace safety standards.
Staff Development:
Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and performance evaluations to build a strong and capable team.
Financial Accountability:
Support daily cash procedures, labour cost tracking, and sales performance monitoring.
Shift Management:
Lead shifts confidently - ensuring smooth transitions, team coordination, and proactive problem-solving during peak periods.
Qualifications
Minimum
1 year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
within a high-volume restaurant.
Strong understanding of restaurant operations, food and labor controls, and guest satisfaction metrics.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to lead under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
Smart Serve certification (required); Food Handler certification (asset).
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
