is hiring an

Assistant Gas Bar/C-Store Manager

on a full-time permanent basis, onsite out of the Slocan Park C-Store in

Slocan Park, BC.

This role will be providing Gas Bar/C-Store Manager duties on an interim basis.



Located in the West Kootenay region of south-east British Columbia, the Slocan Valley Co-operative Association provides a range of quality goods and services via our Castlegar Petroleum & Lubricant department, our Grocery Convenience and Gas Bar departments in Nelson, Castlegar, Glenmerry, Slocan Park, and The Dam Restaurant & Bar serving over 5,000 active member-owners, we help fuel and feed communities. We have been experiencing great growth and success in several ways and are excited to bring more to the many communities in our region.

What you'll do:

Develop and promote a friendly and co-operative attitude in the workplace each day. Oversee the operation and administration of the gas bar and c-store functions. Ensure the receiving and handling of merchandise meets organizational policies, procedures, and standards. Help to achieve financial results and budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses, and profits. Provide leadership in the areas of outstanding customer service, loss prevention and health & safety. Contribute to a positive customer experience, ensuring products and service provided aligns with the expectations of external and internal customers. Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Team:

You will work closely with the location supervisors and the Consumer Operations Manager and will have 14 direct reports. This team strives to cultivate a culture of community, diversity, and collaboration.

Who are you:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:


Have 4-6 years of retail experience, including 2 years of leadership experience. Have a high school diploma (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered). Have BC Serving it Right certification or are wiling to obtain it. You are honest and trustworthy.
