The Event Coordinator's responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Event Coordination
Working alongside the events manager, to ensure enforcement of service standards and protocols for Floga events.
Ensuring all details are followed on event order before, during and after events.
As delegated, acting as the point of contact for the event host to ensure appropriate level of service.
Consolidation of event orders and expediting.
Working alongside the event management team to facilitate a positive work environment focused on quality and the highest levels of service.
Responsible for training all new event staff for Floga.
Responsible for the executing/closing of event orders in collaboration with service staff.
Customer relations liaising with Head Chef regarding complaints and requests. Reporting any problems or preferences back to Events Manager/General Manager for consistent flow of communication.
Working directly with Director of Operations and the General Manager for weekly organization of events.
Continuously working with the Management team and staff on ways to improve service and execution of events.
Maintain appearance of Floga and private event room and set correctly for next day's functions and service.
Daily Duties
Answering calls on Floga's direct events line and gathering all the information required for event inquiries.
When delegated, the opening or closing of Floga Restaurant.
Manage a section when required- monitoring of full guest experience (table placement & presentation, timing of food, pouring of wine/wine pairing, ensuring that any restrictions are observed).
Comprehensive knowledge of food and wine/beverages served at Floga.
Provide F&B support and answers to Events, Sales, Operations, Sommelier, and all other Floga departments as needed in the absence of the Senior Event Manager or General Manager.
Provide support and guidance for all FOH staff, ensuring a high-quality of service, knowledge and appearance
Qualifications
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Excellent customer service and organizational abilities
Proven time management and budgeting experience
Background in marketing and guest services
Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in restaurants or hotels
Effective presentation skills to engage and inform diverse audiences
Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in restaurants or hotels
Must be legal to work in Canada
Greek speaking an asset
