Position Type:
Entry-level with room for advancement to become a Lead Coordinator. All work is on a contract basis. Part-time as needed on evenings/ weekends/ event days (Friday/ Saturday/Sunday)
Position Summary:
We are seeking an outgoing, creative and detailed orientated individual to join our wedding and events team. As the Assistant Coordinator you will follow directions and assist the Lead Coordinator with event setup, decor, vendor and client communication and other event related tasks. You will be expected to help with 5- 10 events per year, with the majority of the work taking place from May - November.
Role and Responsibilities:
Must be available evenings and weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Must be available to attend client meetings in person and via zoom. As well as wedding rehearsal and pre-wedding site visits.
Must be able to commit to events months in advance as we book events anywhere from 6 - 12 months ahead of time
Handle fast-paced environments and problem-solve during delicate and stressful situations.
Assist with setup, decor, the timing of events, vendor and guest direction, tear down, etc.
Must have a flexible schedule as events range in shift length as well as start and end times
Must be capable of directing vendors and liaising between venue, vendors and guests on event days.
Must have own laptop, internet access, transportation and smartphone. You may be required to drive to multiple locations throughout the day and transport small items as needed.
Must be willing to travel outside of Winnipeg on event days
Must be able to lift 40lbs
Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time
Additional administrative tasks as needed
