WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?



Assistant Coordinator, Volunteers





The Assistant Coordinator, Volunteers reports to the Manager, Operations and is responsible for supporting the National Bank Open Volunteer Program which consists of over 1500 Volunteers.



Ongoing liaison with Volunteers and Committee Heads Attend all Committee Head meetings Assist in all mass communication with Volunteers Assist in managing the Volunteer portal and accreditation system Ensure integrity of the years of service program Assist in the planning and coordination of the Ballcrew tryouts Assist in the planning and coordination of the Volunteer fairs Conduct additional volunteer interviews as necessary Hire and place all new volunteers onto committees Work with Committee Heads to ensure volunteer quantities are maintained Update all Committee Head and Volunteer Role Descriptions Order all volunteer awards, prizing and pins Order all CH and Captains gifts Assist with all volunteer creative needs (handbook, invitations, pocket guide etc) Assist in the planning and coordination of the New Volunteer orientation Assist in the planning and coordination of the Committee orientations Assist in the distribution of volunteer packages Assist with printing all volunteer accreditation for pick-up Assist with organizing and distributing the required signage plan for Volunteer committees Assist with organizing the tournament setup for Committees, ensuring they have adequate equipment and supplies Assist with organizing and distributing the virtual volunteer tickets and HONK parking codes Ensure the required background checks and safe screening has been completed for volunteers Assist in the organization of the volunteer party Assist Committee Heads with scheduling for the tournament Assist in the creation of the volunteer video Assist with preparing and sending out Volunteer newsletters Assist in the organization of the post-tournament volunteer survey and rating system

WHO YOU ARE?



Good communication skills, both written and oral Effective time management, organization and computer skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast passed environment The flexibility to work as required within the time commitment requirements necessary for special events

WORKING CONDITIONS



Onsite / hybrid Location is Sobeys Stadium at York University Some evening and weekend work will be required leading up to and during the National Bank Open presented by Rogers. Office hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm Fixed Term contract from April 20th to August 21st, 2026
