Position Summary: Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting with all accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company\'s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE). What you will do:
Provide all necessary support to business units that will aid in the management and development of the business. The incumbent must have a developed mindset focused on the use of accounting to support the management of a corporation in driving sustainable growth. They must be focused on providing proactive support to managers and the development of the business.
Ensure that all accounting, bookkeeping tasks and activities are kept up to date in an accurate manner at all times. (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, etc.).
Reconcile general ledger accounts to minimize the risk of undetected errors and potential losses, create periodic financial reports
Assist with annual budget and audit
Respond to certain vendor inquiries regarding finance and accounting
Prepare journal entries, ensuring timely, accurate and efficient recording
Work with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
Other accounting related matters and special projects as required
Qualifications
A CPA or equivalent designation, or in progress
Completion of a post-secondary accounting program
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Advanced computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office software
Knowledge of Accounting Software NetSuite an asset
Able to manage a high volume of workflow with a high level of accuracy
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with and solicit cooperation from others

Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm including a one-hour unpaid lunch.
IN-OFFICE position with the possibility of moving to HYBRID after training (approx. 3 months).
