Job Description

Whitetail Homes is a real estate developer and general contractor specializing in the construction of multi-family homes. We are looking for a permanent full-time Assistant Controller who can take charge of the accounting function, oversee our growing team, and own all financial reporting activities. Working closely with the Controller, this person will play a crucial part in driving process improvements and the overall success of the accounting team. This position offers tremendous growth potential leading to a more senior role as the company\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio of projects grows. Key Responsibilities: - Manage accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting functions of the department. - Supervise the month-end close processes. - Prepare year-end compilation engagement working papers. - Prepare and file GST, EHT & WCB returns. - Prepare and file provincial and federal government returns specific to land development & real estate entities. - Ensure compliance with accounting regulations & standards as well as the company\xe2\x80\x99s internal controls and processes. - Oversee a team of 2 accounting professionals. - Serve as a liaison with external auditors under the direction of the Controller. - Ad hoc financial planning and reporting as required by senior management. Qualifications: - Minimum 5-8 years of accounting experience. - Experience working in the construction industry is an asset. - Working knowledge of Sage 50 is preferred. - The high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. - Ability to prioritize and multitask. - Excellent communication skills and outgoing personality. Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Fraser Valley or willing to relocate. Job Type: Full-time Salary: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year Benefits:
