Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and hospitality, with experience in various aspects of kitchen management, food preparation, and service. This role involves supporting the Head Chef in daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and contributing to menu planning and execution. The Assistant Chef will also play a key role in supervising kitchen staff and maintaining an organized kitchen environment.

Responsibilities



Assist the Head Chef in food preparation and cooking for various events, including banquets and fine dining services. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Participate in menu planning, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences. Oversee food production processes to maintain quality and presentation standards. Collaborate with the catering team to deliver exceptional service during events. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to health regulations. Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.

Requirements



Proven experience in culinary roles within the food industry, preferably in fine dining or catering environments. Strong leadership skills with a background in team management and supervising kitchen staff. Knowledge of food production techniques, menu planning, and inventory management. Familiarity with dietary department practices is a plus. Excellent cooking skills with an understanding of various cuisines and presentation styles. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and front-of-house staff. Experience in restaurant management or food service management is desirable. Commitment to upholding food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen. Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
