Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Butchery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and preparation, with a strong focus on quality and customer service. This role involves assisting in the butchery process, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of food safety and quality. The Butchery Assistant will work closely with experienced butchers to learn the intricacies of meat cutting and packaging while providing exceptional service to our customers.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cutting of various meats according to specifications Maintain cleanliness and organization of the butchery area, adhering to food safety standards Package meat products for display and sale, ensuring proper labeling and presentation Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting customers with their selections Support the team in inventory management, including receiving and storing meat products Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods

Qualifications

Previous experience in food production or kitchen environments is preferred Strong knife skills and familiarity with meat cutting techniques are highly desirable Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations in the food industry Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Culinary experience or training is a plus, though not mandatory Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) as required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
