ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT;

We currently have availability to join our accounting admin team. Northern Farm Foods Ltd is located at 33 Peters Avenue, RR #4 North Corman Industrial Park and is a producer owned Non-GMO Canola Processing Facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the day to day accounting functions, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and controls, assisting in preparing financial reports, cost accounting schedules, payroll and assist with audit preparation.

Ensure accurate and timely recording of accounts receivable and accounts payable;

Ensure prompt collection of accounts receivable;

Maintain an orderly accounting filing system;

Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions;

Maintain finance interest schedules;

Maintain payroll records, execute and report all payroll transactions;

Assist in preparing timely and complete financial statements, including month-end, and year-end;

Assist in the preparation of costs and analyze variances from the budget;

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in an accountant position is relevant;

Degree or certificate in accounting;

Experience in cost allocations is a strong asset;

Strong excel skills;

Proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Software applications;

Strong attention to detail, self-motivated and resourceful;

Ability to work effectively and efficiently independently and within group;

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written);

Ability to communicate and work in a changing environment streamlining results

COMPENSATION:

Depending on experience to start, ($21 - $31)
