Our Asset Lifecycle Management Office is looking for an Asset Planning Specialist to provide senior technical expertise and administration of Engineering and Architectural services for our Bus Rapid Transit systems physical infrastructure projects that meet customer service quality objectives.What will I be doing?
  • Provides senior technical expertise and administration of Engineering and Asset Management services for physical infrastructure asset management plans and projects that meet customer service quality objectives.
  • Provides senior technical expertise for the transfer and integration of asset information including tabular and geospatial data.
  • Assure asset information systems provide the required functionality to business units across Metrolinx, including but not limited to the following: asset register and maintenance management system (Infor EAM software) and geographical information system (ArcGIS software).
  • Responsible for supporting various Metrolinx asset class teams on asset management maturity improvement initiatives including asset information and asset management planning processes.
  • Responsible for working with Metrolinx asset class teams to prioritized asset investments using a risk assessments framework and ensuring various mitigations and options analysis are leveraged.
  • Responsible for the reviewing and tracking of new state-of-good repair project requests from various Metrolinx asset class teams and consult on the development of the 10-year capital finance forecast.
  • Consulted on providing technical assurance on asset-related emergency response.
  • Recommends tender bids for contract awards, requisitions for purchase orders, change orders for contracts and addenda for consultant agreements.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a university degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience related to infrastructure asset management, capital planning, design, construction of transit facilities, municipal infrastructure, and related works.
  • Asset Management certification (IAM Certificate or equivalent) preferred.
  • Professional designation (C.E.T. or similar) considered an asset.
  • Experience in asset information systems, including but not limited to maintenance management systems; geographical information systems; customer service systems, etc.
  • Knowledge of Infor EAM and ArcGIS software preferred.
  • Knowledge of performance analytics to monitor project performance and quality and to collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint site administration, MS power apps, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Project management skills to manage selected complex, high-risk projects from start to close-out under pressure to meet schedule and budgetary commitments.
  • Knowledge of construction standards and procedures
  • Analytical ability, negotiation, and oral/written/presentation skills to manage projects and act as the Metrolinx representative and/or witness at hearings, presentations, and project information sessions.
  • Valid \'G\' drivers\' license
