Our Hinton Pulp Division is seeking individuals with strong technical, leadership, planning, organization and interpersonal skills to fill the following position:

ASSET ANALYST

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Asset Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert for our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in CMMS software, including Maximo and SAP, and will play a crucial role in optimizing the system for efficient maintenance operations. This role involves not only managing and administrating the CMMS but also onboarding new staff, providing support, and implementing changes in maintenance software and scheduling practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as the primary authority for the CMMS, including but not limited to Maximo and SAP. Administer the system, ensure data accuracy, and optimize its use for maintenance processes.
  • Train and onboard new and existing staff members in CMMS usage and provide ongoing support to all users.
  • Have site administration rights to make changes and updates within the CMMS systems as necessary, ensuring data integrity and system functionality is maintained.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of maintenance best practices and apply them to the CMMS to improve efficiency and reliability in maintenance operations.
  • Drive and support changes and improvements in maintenance software and processes, working closely with the Maintenance Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Scheduling of maintenance activities and coordinate resources efficiently. Proficiency in scheduling software like Microsoft Project or equivalent is essential.
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, work orders, and asset records in the CMMS. Perform audits within the Maintenance Systems to ensure data integrity and system clean-up is being performed.
Safety: Safety is a collective responsibility, and all employees including Asset Analyst, play a vital role in creating and maintaining a safe work environment. By adhering to safety protocols and promoting a safety-conscious culture, they contribute to the well-being of themselves and their colleagues.
  • Adherence to Safety Policies: The Asset Analyst should be well-versed in the company\'s safety policies and procedures and ensure strict adherence to them. This includes following safety guidelines, rules, and protocols. Strive to maintain 100% DATS/UKG compliance.
  • Safety Audits and Inspections: The Asset Analyst will be involved in FLHA Reviews (in-field) as well as perform documented safety observations on peers.
  • Safety Communication: The Asset Analyst should communicate safety information effectively with colleagues and team members, particularly when it concerns asset maintenance or modifications that could impact safety.
  • Incident Investigation: In the event of a safety incident, the Asset Analyst may be called upon to assist in the investigation, helping to determine the root causes and contributing factors.
  • Promote a Safety Culture: The Asset Analyst should be a role model for safety, promoting a culture of safety within the workplace. They can do this by leading by example, raising safety awareness, and encouraging others to prioritize safety in all activities.
Our ideal candidate would have:
  • College or University degree in a related field plus a minimum of 5 to 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience, or Trade Certificate with experience in Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 5+ years heavy industrial experience.
  • Technical Proficiency in CMMS software is fundamental.
  • Asset Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of asset management principles, including asset lifecycle management, maintenance strategies, and best practices for asset optimization.
  • Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail is critical for accurately entering asset data, maintaining asset records, and ensuring data integrity within the CMMS.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to identify and address issues related to assets and maintenance processes.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication is necessary for collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Time Management: Efficiently managing time and prioritizing tasks.
  • Proficiency in CMMS software, with experience in Maximo and SAP being a significant asset.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices and their application within CMMS systems.
  • Experience in system administration and data management within a CMMS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products and scheduling software, e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project or equivalent.
