THE ROLE
Atlas Power Technologies is actively seeking an Assembly Technician to join our growing production team.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with their hands, and has previous experience in electrical or mechanical assembly. A high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to quality are essential. This position plays a key role in assembling and testing our next-generation supercapacitor modules and ensuring production targets are met with precision and safety.
Reporting to the Mechanical Manufacturing Design Engineer, this is a full-time, hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to perform physical tasks in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembly Responsibilities:
Assemble supercapacitor modules using basic hand tools and mechanical fasteners.
Follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions accurately.
Inspect electrical and mechanical components to ensure quality and alignment with specifications.
Route and connect wiring, install busbars, and apply insulating materials where necessary.
Perform continuity and resistance checks as part of quality control.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, complying with cleanliness and safe work procedures.
Operate basic equipment and support testing procedures under engineer supervision.
Accurately record build data and component traceability information.
Lift, move, and manipulate materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses and gloves.
Participate in process improvements and maintain a high standard of workplace safety.
Support shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks as required.
Work well in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and shift flexibility is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Mechanical or electrical assembly experience is highly preferred.
Previous work in a manufacturing, warehouse, or technical environment is an asset.
Experience using tools such as torque wrenches, crimpers, multimeters, etc. is a strong plus.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
WHMIS, OFA 1 or 2 certification is an asset and will be prioritized.
Reliable transportation to the site is required.
Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, high quality standards, and continuous improvement.
