Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Roller Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy compaction equipment to ensure the proper density and stability of various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of machinery operation, safety protocols, and construction processes. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including paving, concrete forming, and site preparation, contributing to the successful completion of construction initiatives.

Duties

Operate roller compaction equipment to achieve specified stone and asphalt densities in paving and grading projects Assist with heavy equipment operation such as loaders, excavators, and other construction machinery as needed Support concrete forming and finishing tasks to ensure quality standards are met Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on roller equipment to ensure optimal performance Collaborate with team members to coordinate site activities and maintain safety standards Follow project plans and specifications to meet project deadlines and quality requirements Drive commercial vehicles for material transport or site access when required Assist in site preparation activities including excavation, grading, and material handling

Skills

Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently Experience with construction equipment such as rollers, loaders, excavators, and concrete finishing tools Knowledge of paving techniques, concrete forming, and site grading procedures Ability to operate commercial vehicles for transportation purposes Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy machinery operation and construction sites Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment Prior experience in construction or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
