Job Summary

We're seeking an

experienced Asphalt Raker Specialist

to join our team. Under the supervision of the

Foreman/Woman

, the successful candidate will rake hot asphalt to specified grades, maintain a clean and organized worksite, and contribute to the completion of top-quality paving projects across Ottawa.

This is a

hands-on, field-based role

ideal for individuals who take pride in their craftsmanship, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the paving crew to perform

hot asphalt work

efficiently and safely. Rake and level asphalt to the required slope and grade, ensuring consistent surface quality. Lead and support a

junior raker

in maintaining proper raking techniques and pace. Maintain a

clean, organized, and safe worksite

, securing tools and materials daily. Operate

skid-steers and rollers

as needed to support paving operations. Load and unload tools, materials, and supplies from company trailers and vehicles. Conduct

daily equipment inspections

and perform minor maintenance as required. Safely sort, stack, and secure materials and equipment during transport. Complete additional site or maintenance duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

Minimum

1 year of asphalt raking experience

(required). Minimum

2 years of skid-steer or paver operation

(preferred). Valid

Class G driver's licence

(required). Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Ability to

work outdoors in all weather conditions

. Excellent

physical fitness

for lifting, bending, kneeling, and long shifts. Calm under pressure with strong teamwork and communication skills.

English proficiency

required (spoken and written). Flexible to work

weekdays, weekends, and extended hours

as needed.
