Superior Asphalt Paving Company Ltd. is a COR certified, locally owned, family-run business that is a major force in the asphalt field, employing more than 45 people in the spring and summer. In the winter our business turns from creation to removal where we clear snow and ice from over 200 commercial parking lots, malls, and shopping centres.

We offer competitive wages and opportunity for advancement. Our work week is Monday to Friday, typically 10+ hour days with bi-weekly pay. Full benefits packaged offered after 3 months.

Requirements/Skills



Knowledge of proper set up, operations and maintenance of a paver. Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry, including prep work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving. Understanding of computerized controls and electronics. Ability to operate or initiative to learn to operate other equipment required on asphalt crew. Overtime is required. Attention to detail and ability to operate equipment with precision. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Valid drivers licence.

Responsibilities



Perform daily maintenance, adjustments and safety checks to paver. Operate paver and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Perform other duties on construction site, as directed by Supervisor. Complete necessary paperwork and documentation, such as time sheets, equipment inspection reports and work orders. Promote, execute and adhere to company safety program and encourage all employees, sub contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
