Summary The Indigenous Cultural Business Event Centre located in Gatineau Quebec is a thriving and vibrant component of the Native Women\xe2\x80\x99s Association of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s collective goal to enhance, promote and foster the social, economic, cultural, and political well-being of Indigenous women within their respective communities and Canada societies. Located throughout this building are numerous artworks by Indigenous artists, many are available for purchase on the online gallery or Artisanelle store while others are part of NWAC\xe2\x80\x99s permanent art collection. As part of creating culturally safe spaces, there are unique places across all six levels that contain traditional medicines, artifacts, and sacred items, including a First Nation Medicine room. At the heart of the Centre is the vault which contains self-interpretive exhibitions of subject matters of importance to Indigenous women, girls, and gender diverse peoples; the vault is open to the public during business hours. Ceremony is central to our traditional teachings and overall well-being. It is common and comforting to smell the scent of sage within the Centre. Staff, visitors, guests, and the public may wish to smudge and are welcome to do so. Scope The Art Coordinator and Cultural Interpreter under the direction of the Senior Director, Social Development, Youth, Art, Sport, and Education will be responsible for maintaining the NWAC artwork collection and for providing cultural interpretive services including guided tours throughout the building.
