The North Vancouver Recreation & Culture is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. NVRC offers a wide range of recreation, social, health and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities.

We are currently accepting applications for an Arts and Crafts Instructor to lead and assist in the delivery of a variety of pottery programs.

You will:

• Prepare and lead recreational clay courses for adults
• Plan and implement appropriate activities for participants\xe2\x80\x99 skill level
• Ensure safety of instructional environment

YOU HAVE:

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to effectively teach pottery and sculpture to adults
• Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment with different personalities

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High Five: Principles of Healthy Child Development certification, Emergency Childcare First Aid or equivalent, and pottery experience. Previous experience teaching is an asset.

Specific Days/Hours:
Delbrook Community Recreation Centre \xe2\x80\x93 Available for spring classes on various days and time for children\xe2\x80\x99s pottery and/or Thursday nights beginning in July for Adult Pottery classes.

Parkgate Community Recreation Centre \xe2\x80\x93 Available Thursdays 9:00am-12:00pm to teach \xe2\x80\x98All Levels Grassroots Sculpture for Adults\xe2\x80\x99 and Fridays 9:00am-12:00pm to teach \xe2\x80\x98Adult Pottery \xe2\x80\x93 Intermediate.\xe2\x80\x99

All employees should be prepared to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Record Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment. Clearance requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions related to this position.

Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour, plus 4% in lieu of benefits based on education and experience
