We are looking to hire an Area Manager to join our growing parcel operations team. In this role you will be responsible for leading and directing a team that you will have a hand in building from the ground up. You will oversee all employee scheduling, route planning, dispatching, and will play a large role in hiring new talent. Key Responsibilities:

  • Training and coaching a team of delivery drivers, delivery assistants and warehouse associates.
  • Ensuring high levels of process adherence and customer service through field audits and quality reviews
  • Monitoring and reporting key KPIs to management
  • Fostering a culture of workplace safety, high service levels, and productivity
  • Participating in budget development and oversight for the operations
  • Maintaining best practices, sustainable operations, and performance standards
  • Overseeing health and safety training and compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Leading team check-ins/huddles and providing updates on company policies and procedures
  • Co-ordinating, assigning and reviewing the work of employees
  • Maintaining inventories of materials, parts and products
  • Dispatching crews; scheduling transportation crews and routes; operating vehicles; and other related activities
  • Overseeing daily utilization of the local fleet, planning efficient route plans and scheduling staff accordingly
  • Delegating and participating in on-site responsibilities (packing, padding/wrapping, disassembly of furniture, etc.)
  • Solving complex problems in real-time while keeping cross-functional leadership apprised of results
  • Conducting interviews with prospective team members and making hiring decisions and
  • Training workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
  • Leading team development and cultivating values in operational excellence and professionalism
  • Planning, organizing and overseeing operational logistics, establishing work schedules and procedures, resolving work-related issues, providing inputs into progress and other reports and co-ordinating activities with other departments
  • Engaging in strategic planning and forecasting; appraising performance, resolving problems and addressing staffing needs
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of the crew\'s daily activities
  • Requisitioning supplies and materials
  • Ensuring smooth operation of vehicles, equipment and machinery arranging for maintenance and repair work
  • May perform the same duties as workers supervised.
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in warehousing, transportation, furniture handling, operations, and logistics
  • 1+ years of managerial experience in a warehouse setting with the ability to execute management directives during a time of exponential growth and to supervise a team
  • 1+ years of experience in quality control and monitoring employee productivity/quality in accordance with operating standards
  • Relevant Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Previous experience in truck management, maintenance, and truck driving
  • Experience in B2C/B2B deliveries and fulfillment in a large facility
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in order to adhere to critical business deadlines
  • Valid driver\'s license and clean driving record (or the ability to obtain)
  • High degree of technological literacy (understanding multiple applications and systems related to business functions)
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a demonstrated capacity for interfacing with large, multi-million-dollar clients
  • Experience leading end-to-end performance management cycles
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills, including the ability to de-escalate/mediate conflicts
  • Proven leader in professional team development
  • Highly analytical with problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong decision-making ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work evening hours, weekends, and holidays
