Responsibilities:




Acquire, appraise, process, catalogue, store, safeguard, and research historically valuable corporate materials, including documents, photographs, maps, audiovisual materials, artwork, and electronic records. Prepare document descriptions and reference tools such as accession lists, indexes, finding aids, bibliographies, abstracts, and digitized copies to support archival access and use. Contribute to the development and revision of internal policies and procedures related to records management, including naming conventions, retention schedules, disposal processes, and documentation standards. Assist in implementing organization-wide records management systems and policies. Support the expansion of SharePoint and the development of electronic records governance across departments. Provide reference services to internal and external users of the archives. Support and train employees in best practices related to document management and archival research. Be available to travel, when requested Any other related duties request by the supervisor.



Qualifications:




Degree in archival studies or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in document and records management, including advanced knowledge of archival principles, best practices, and the stewardship of traditional Inuit knowledge. Experience working with Inuit communities and a solid understanding of Nunavik Inuit culture is essential. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Comfortable using Zoom and other online communication tools. Experience contributing to electronic records governance and SharePoint expansion is an asset. Fluent in at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, and/or French. Effective oral and written communication and strong organizational skills. Ability to self-motivate, work independently, and collaborate in a team setting. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity, relationship-building skills, and the ability to work with a diverse workforce. Punctual, dependable, and able to handle confidential information with discretion. Able to meet deadlines and perform under pressure. Willing and available to receive training as required.
