Fleur-de-lis Interior Design Architectural Technologist for Interior Design Millwork Drawings for Interior Design firm. Fleur-de-lis is an ARIDO Award winning firm with a varied client base. The firm\xe2\x80\x99s notoriety has been built on a succession of residential and commercial projects. We are seeking an experienced and energetic CAD Drafter/Technicianto join our group, located in the Yonge and Eglinton area of Toronto. This role will be working with a diverse client base including residential and commercial projects. Working closely with clients and the principals, you will be involved in creating architectural and millwork drawing packages while coordinating closely with the project manager regarding office production standards and procedures. Soft skills required:

  • Technical proficiency and experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe CS.
  • 3D Rendering for interiors and exteriors a must.
  • Familiarity with dimensioning, scaling, and typical CAD standards.
  • Can work independently and can take make good decisions based on given information. Experience creating complete drawing sets.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical design is preferred and beneficial but not required.
  • Graphic design excellence and competency in sketch and freehand drawing is an asset.
  • Must have a strong understanding of constructing project fees and project management.
  • Possess strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Must be self-driven, highly motivated & able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task & manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • High degree of attention to detail & follow-through.
Experience Required: Graduate of an accredited drafting, interior design or architectural school with a minimum of 2 - 5 years of drafting technology/CAD or equivalent experience in Canada.   • Role requirements : Collecting and organising technical building information from architects or designers or clients
Site visits
Preparing drawings, plans and documents for statutory approvals
Obtaining tenders for construction work
Contributing to meetings and document preparation
Researching new design processes, building legislation and technology
Develop architectural design manually and with computer-aided design (CAD)
Examine building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements, and other technical documents and reports
Follow building regulations and other legal requirements.
Determine costs, needed materials, site requirements, and other technical documents/reports from conceptual drawings and instructions.
Construct architectural and display models and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs.
Prepare contracts and bids.
Supervise drafters, technicians, and technologists on the architectural team.
Supervise construction projects and co-ordinate, monitor, and inspect construction work
Reviewing checking and approving shop drawings
  • Education: 2-3 years minimum of a college or university program in architectural technology
