We are looking for an Intermediate Technologist to be an integral member of our design team and assist the Project Architect or Project Leader in creating design and working drawings within budget and schedule. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and creative mind to take on dynamic and challenging projects that will transform our city and the greater area.

Most of the Things You'll Work On:

  • Create design and working drawing, including floor plans, building sections, wall sections, details, RCP's and schedules
  • Coordinate their work with the work of other team members and internal or external engineering and architectural disciplines
  • Comply with IBI or client design or CAD standards
  • Complete work within assigned project budgets
  • Meet project schedules
  • Develops and coordinates exceptional detailed design concepts, with the ability to develop functional requirements and inspirational approach to meet project-design criteria
  • With input from the project Lead, oversee the interior design process and deliverable, establish project direction and work within project budgets and schedules
  • Ability to coordinate with contractors as well as: mechanical, electrical, structural, lighting, audio-visual, and client
  • Demonstrates clear understanding of the architectural design process, and how to effectively integrate interior elements and concepts with minimal supervision
  • Able to effectively review preliminary space plans and designs concepts to ensure code, accessibility and functional requirements are met
Qualifications

You'll Need To Have :
  • Minimum Degree in Architecture/Interior Design
  • Registered ARIDO Member considered an asset
  • NCIDQ considered an asset
  • Experience and familiarity with OBC for Interior Design
  • 3+ years experience in preparation of working drawings
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to translate schematic design into working drawings
  • Proactive to find and propose problem solving solutions
  • Experience with high-rise residential and/or hospitality interior design projects is an asset
  • Demonstrates experience detailing and developing custom millwork pieces
  • Able to work independently as well as on a team
  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD is mandatory
  • Knowledge of Sketch Up
  • Confident, and willing to accept additional responsibilities and challenges to achieve career advancement
  • Strong team player
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of contract administration
  • Ability to review shop drawings and submittals
  • Understanding of building codes and accessibility codes/standards

Located at 55 St. Clair Ave West, this office is steps away from St. Clair station and is easily accessible by bike, TTC and car. Occupying 7 floors, with over 700 employees, it is the largest office at Arcadis IBI Group. The floors are open concept and represent our collaborative approach to projects.
