What\'s the job?

As the successful candidate for this role, you will develop sales strategies and manage growth relationships with architects, distributors, contractors, & owners to generate demand resulting in incremental commercial sales for our extensive line of interior & exterior products and systems as part of our \xe2\x80\x9cproject solution\xe2\x80\x9d selling approach.

As part of the Architectural Solutions team, you will lead a regional team and play a key consultative role working with key accounts to \xe2\x80\x9cBuild Better\xe2\x80\x9d high performing and sustainable buildings. Working in partnership with building science, you will use insights and consultative services, to create demand and position CertainTeed objectives or products in projects to drive business results. We need someone who is\xe2\x80\xa6 client-centric, a strong leader of a talented team, innovative, strategic, driven, tenacious and disciplined with a positive attitude. Working autonomously and developing partnerships will be the key to success in this role as well as:

  • Identify and develop accounts and plans in key markets with early-stage influence over multiple projects.
  • Ensure and maintain project pipeline for the assigned territory and drive \xe2\x80\x9cmust win\xe2\x80\x9d projects.
  • Develop solutions/services-based relationships to influence and enhance the design, construction and utilization of current and future CT products within projects.
  • Identify & qualify projects early in the design phase and provide multi-product solutions ensuring to thoroughly research and assess potential construction activities and overall project profitability.
  • Work closely with Key Project Stakeholders (Developers, Owner, Project Architects/Designers, key Contractors, Specifiers, Construction Managers, Facilities Managers, etc.) to create unique and differentiated solutions for high end commercial and residential projects.
  • Provide on-site solutions to installers/end-users for product applications.
  • Deliver presentations to diverse audiences up to and including higher level decision makers to position Saint-Gobain as a leader in solution development and sustainability.
  • Identify territory/regional requirements (Building codes, Sustainability requirements, etc.) and provide resources to support these requirements across CertainTeed and Saint-Gobain products.
  • Secure specifications for Value Added Products (VAP) and increase project closing rate in both the residential and commercial sectors.
  • Engage in training and utilize internal relationships to develop strong solutions-focused knowledge.
  • Maintain and develop expertise about new technologies, competitive information and market trends; Gather and summarize VOC for use in marketing, product development and other strategic areas.
  • Act as Commercial contact for Interior Products Group (IPG) leads within territory.
  • Use CRM to capture and maintain comprehensive information for accounts and projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in architectural technology or building science, marketing or similar discipline or equivalent experience, combined with five years of equivalent experience in a previous technical sales position.
  • Track record of building strong customer relationship and growing the business year over year
  • Negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent presentation skills with good written and oral communication
  • Knowledge of building materials and construction processes.
  • Certified Technical Representative (CTR) by Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) is an asset
  • Knowledge of building codes and product standards.
  • Mastery of the office suite and use of CRM
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications
