Job Overview
As a
BCIN Qualified Architectural Designer
, you will collaborate with planners, engineers, and our construction team to produce high-quality architectural designs. This role involves coordinating projects from concept through completion, including preparing permit packages and detailed construction documents. You will work directly with clients and senior design teams to ensure all requirements are met while applying Ontario Building Code standards across a diverse range of projects, including residential, commercial, agricultural, industrial, and institutional developments.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed architectural drawings and schematics using CAD software such as Sketchup, AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, and MicroStation.
Develop 3D models and visualizations utilizing SketchUp, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, and 3ds Max to enhance project presentations.
Create construction documentation compliant with local building codes and regulations, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Collaborate with project teams to refine interior and exterior designs, integrating mechanical systems and graphic elements as needed.
Assist in system design and interior design aspects to develop cohesive architectural solutions.
Review technical drawings for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client specifications.
Support the preparation of permit submissions by producing detailed schematics and construction drawings.
Skills
BCIN qualifications in Legal, Housing, and Complex Buildings
Proficiency in SketchUp, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, Rhinoceros 3D, Grasshopper 3D, SolidWorks, and 3ds Max.
Strong understanding of drafting standards and construction documentation processes.
Experience with schematic development and system design integration.
Knowledge of interior design principles and mechanical design fundamentals.
Ability to create compelling 2D animations or visualizations for client presentations.
Excellent graphic design skills complemented by attention to detail in CAD drafting.
