Job Title: Architect/Engineer - National Park Service Project LOCATION: Multiple Locations within the US. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Architecture.
  • Professional license as an architect.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time work directly related to the position.
  • Proven experience in exhibit design, preferably in the context of cultural and natural heritage sites.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, preservation standards, and accessibility requirements.
  • Proficiency in relevant design softwares.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to different project sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES: onducting on-site visits to National Park Service sites.
  • Collaborating with park staff to understand interpretive needs and objectives.
  • Assessing existing facilities, including visitor centers, museums, education centers, contact stations, and historic structures.
  • Developing architectural plans for interpretive media installations in diverse settings, including contemporary visitor centers and historic buildings.
  • Integrating exhibit design with rehabilitation plans and scopes of work for historic structures.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant design standards, accessibility requirements, and preservation guidelines.
  • Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, including graphic designers, multimedia specialists, and content developers.
  • Collaborating with National Park Service staff to incorporate their insights and requirements into the design process.
  • Overseeing the fabrication of exhibits, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to design specifications.
  • Coordinating with installation teams to ensure seamless integration of exhibits within park areas.
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of design plans, cost estimates, and project progress.
  • Ensuring that all architectural work complies with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Willingness to travel to various National Park Service sites as needed.
