Role Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a talented Architect for our Arcadis office in Calgary, Alberta. Working with our seniors/affordable housing portfolio of work, you\'ll have the opportunity to work with a fast-paced, driven team with a proven success record in both design and technical excellence. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of projects end to end (in REVIT) and will possess strong design skills.

You will have hands-on experience going through the full life cycle of an architectural project from preliminary concept design through to detailed design, and production of contract and permit drawings which will include client facing responsibilities and working with AHJ. Part of your responsibilities will be working with remote inter-offices in support of their project efforts. This will include managing staff locally as well as project coordination. The successful individual will also have a keen and creative eye for design along with a strong ability to lead and project manage/coordinate complex projects and coordinate with various disciplines and external consultants to prepare high quality coordinated documents. Furthermore, you will be a strong critical thinker, and someone who enjoys tackling new challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum University Degree in Architecture
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in an architectural firm working on a variety of projects within mid to high rise buildings, institutional, industrial, wood frame
  • Registered with the AAA as an Architect or Intern Architect
  • Must have strong hands-on experience with Revit; some experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software is also expected
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge on Building Codes and Specifications
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to direct junior staff to produce presentation and construction documents
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Experience with leading projects and project coordination
  • Great critical thinking skills with the ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
