ERM is seeking a highly motivated Archaeologist to join our global consulting firm as part of our archaeology and cultural heritage team based in Toronto, ON. This is a permanent full-time position. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance for archaeological desk and field studies within Canada. The successful candidate will work with our team to complete fieldwork, data processing and reporting tasks for numerous archaeological assessments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform Stage 1 through Stage 4 archaeological assessments, field surveys, and excavation.
• Conduct research, report writing, field data processing, artifact analysis, and cataloguing.
• Provide technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM\xe2\x80\x99s business and client base in the area of archaeology and cultural heritage.
• Interact with other ERM service areas to share multi-disciplinary resources and best practices across the country and internationally.
• Assist with preparing proposals and reports to meet client needs.
• Travel required within Canada.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology, Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree a plus.
• MHSTCI Applied Research License or Professional License.
• Field Director experience conducting Stage 1 through Stage 3 archaeological assessments, surveys, and excavations.
• Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and a good driving record.
• Valid First Aid certification, or the willingness to acquire such certification.
• Demonstrated ability to carry research and reporting to completion.
• Experience conducting archaeological assessments in the shield region of Northern Ontario is a plus.
• Experience engaging with Indigenous communities and field liaisons is a plus.
• Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain.
