We are in high growth mode and building for the future, which is where you come in!As a member of the Finance team, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for full cycle accounts receivable, including preparing invoices for operations in Canada and the U.S., playing a key role in month-end close processes, producing timely reports and participating in special projects. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will also have an opportunity to play an active role in continually establishing and improving internal processes within the department.The successful candidate will have hands-on knowledge of billing procedures, advanced capabilities in compiling data sets using Excel and possess strong analytical abilities. The ideal candidate will also be a persistent self-starter with exceptional relationship building skills to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the day-to-day processing of accounts receivable to ensure customer collections are maintained in an effective, up-to-date and accurate manner;
  • Produce invoices through billing system and/or compilation of large data sets through internal databases;
  • Establish strong relationships with customers and respond to queries in a timely manner;
  • Proactively monitor and follow-up on collections each week, including contacting customers to negotiate payment of outstanding accounts;
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries through the reconciliation of accounts and process improvements;
  • Maintain updated files and invoice procedures per customer and record activities in the accounting system;
  • Oversee and prepare reports on aging and allowance for doubtful accounts;
  • Submit delinquent accounts to collections agency;
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives by constantly reviewing current processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
What We Are Looking For:
  • 1-2 years of related accounting experience accounts payable, accounts receivable, or accounting;
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business, or bookkeeping;
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems an asset;
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, including advanced Excel skills (i.e. lookup functions, pivot tables, sorting large, unstructured data sets and deriving formula);
  • Strong customer service, communication, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills;
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to prioritize in a fast-paced growth environment;
  • Collaborative and excellent team player with demonstrated ability to work within a team;
  • Strong aptitude in leveraging technology to simplify internal processes, minimize manual work and limit delays in processing.
