We are currently seeking a skilled, compassionate and motivated Aquatic Therapist or Registered Kinesiologist to join our multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified therapist or kinesiologist with a passion for water-based therapy to make a real impact on patients' recovery and well-being. The Aquatic Therapist or Registered Kinesiologist is responsible for implementing individualized therapy programs conducted in an aquatic environment to improve patients' mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall function. This role combines the principles of physical therapy with the therapeutic properties of water to assist patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or living with chronic conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in carrying out personalized aquatic physiotherapy treatment plans developed by the physiotherapist for a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, neurological disorders, chronic pain, and mobility impairments.
Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and modify treatment as needed.
Ensure safety protocols are followed in the pool area at all times.
Provide education to patients and caregivers on exercises, expectations, and home care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physiotherapists, massage therapists, etc.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and outcomes.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the therapy pool and surrounding environment.
Stay current with best practices and continuing education in aquatic therapy and rehabilitation.
Qualifications:
Education:
Certified Aquatic Therapist or Registered Kinesiologist preferred.
Experience:
1-2 years of clinical experience in aquatic therapy or rehabilitation preferred.
Experience working with orthopedic, neurologic, or geriatric populations is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of aquatic therapy principles and hydrotherapy techniques.
Ability to assess and adapt treatment plans to meet individual patient needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong observational and critical thinking abilities.
Physical stamina to work in water for extended periods and assist with patient transfers.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
