Job Description


One of our Construction clients is looking to hire an experienced Accounts Payable/Payroll Administrator to join their Finance team. This is a full-time/permanent position located in Kingston, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

-Ensures that all vendor invoices include all required information to process payment including cost code, approval by the Project Manager, etc.

-Inputs invoice into the accounting system (Maestro), processes payment, files the invoices and responds to vendor/ PM inquiries

-Validates and reconciles all remittances, ensures that they are complete and processed in a timely fashion (e.g., WSIB, EHT, HST, government, corporate taxes, etc.)

-Ensures completeness of travel and expenses submitted through Concur (cost code, approvals, etc.) and processes payment in accordance to Andre Construction guidelines

-Processing the payroll cycle including validating timesheet entries with PM/Site Superintendent, Manager to ensure accuracy and consistency, processes, posts and edits new hires and provides assistance with problem troubleshooting and resolves employee pay inquiries

-Pay all union fees (rates, pension, etc.) as per Union agreements. Responsible for remittances of all hours, processes annual updates as per agreements

-Ensures all New Hire forms are complete and filed in employee folder

-Responsible for bank follow-ups and Concur inquiries/ updates

Qualifications:

-Post-secondary education in accounting, payroll or related field

-2+ years experience in payroll

-2+ years in full cycle Accounts Payable

-Experience with Maestro

-Knowledge of the construction industry and the unionized environment is an asset

-Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel

-Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

-Great attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
