DescriptionAccount Payable/Receivable and Payroll AdministratorSalary: $55k/ per year
Permanent position

  • Hours: 9:00 -5:00, 4 days on site, flexibly to work remote 1 day per week once trained.
Accounting Duties
  • Process and oversee the work of financial transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivables, invoices, etc. Reconciling donations with the bank. Prepare invoices and provide monthly follow up and collections.
  • Works with HR for New hires and benefit enrollments.
  • Input and reconcile daily and monthly receipts ADP and Workforce
  • Preparing, reconciling and WSIB remittances.
  • Maintaining and updating accounting spreadsheets and journal logs to ensure it is compliant with the organizations rules and regulations, and any other relevant legislation.
  • Apply the basic accounting principles, knowledge, and techniques to analyze variances, assist in the production of journals, and perform routine accounting activities.
  • Provide support in preparing the financial reports in the accounting and finance department under the guidance received from the Finance Manager.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting and year end activities, assist in audits as required. Participate in financial meetings as required.
Payroll Specific Duties
  • Management of biweekly payroll for 50 employees using ADP, Workforce Now.
  • Data entry for all new hires, termination, and payroll changes.
  • Update employee records for earnings and deductions, salary, hourly rates, etc.
  • Oversight of time and attendance records (i.e. time off requests, timesheet calculations for overtime per provincial mandate, etc.)
  • Maintaining confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Benefits administration and system maintenance, including enrollments, member terminations.
  • Processing of Records of Employment (ROEs) and end of year T4 slips.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Working knowledge and prior experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Education: Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in accounting.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification with the Canadian Payroll Association an asset.
  • Fluency in standard software including QuickBooks, Excel and ADP online payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting rule, practices, tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills/team oriented.
  • Expert level of efficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and attention-to-detail; ability to write and verbally communicate in a clear and concise manner.
