AP Coordinator/Accounting Assistant



Key responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Coordinate accounts payable for the College by:


a. Processing vendor and supplier invoices as well as College staff requests for funds in a timely manner.
b. Verifying accuracy of approvals to appropriate areas and account coding in accordance for cheque requests with accounting standards.
c. Preparing, processing, and filing cheque requests, wire transfers and associated reports weekly or as required.
d. Preparing all accounts payable sub-ledger journals for posting to the general ledger monthly.
e. Reconciling the aged accounts payable to general ledger weekly.
f. Responsible for handling and reconciling petty cash balances on a regular basis.
g. Providing guidance and direction in policies, procedures and regulations in the Accounts Payable function.
h. Responding to vendor and staff inquiries as required.
i. Process miscellaneous changes to student accounts.

2. Participate in general ledger responsibilities which include:


a. Making monthly accounting entries and reconciliations regarding petty cash and A/P clearing for approval by the Finance Manager.
b. Performing daily bank reconciliations by ensuring accounts payable cheques are cleared, miscellaneous cash, and student billing is deposited.
