Accounting Assistant (AP/AR)

to join our Finance team and grow with us.

Position Overview



The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for supporting both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable across our Canadian and U.S. operations. This role involves issuing and collecting invoices, processing expenses, maintaining documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely financial entries.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain accurate documentation for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Sort, match, file, and input payables to ensure timely and accurate supplier payments. Issue sales invoices and support collections for Canadian and U.S. branches. Record invoices and expenses in the correct accounting period using QuickBooks. Prepare and organize Excel spreadsheets and internal reporting documents. Assist with month-end and year-end reporting requirements. Process and record cash receipts. Perform general accounting duties as assigned. Support departmental goals by completing additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications



High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary accounting education an asset). Minimum 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar). Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) for working with customers and vendors. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data sorting). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Willingness to work overtime as needed during reporting periods.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
